Thats not honor we can believe in!

Mon Jun 09, 2008 at 10:31:07 AM PDT

I just got forwarded an article this morning titled "The Wife John McCain Callously Left Behind" and it sure didn't look anything like the 'history tour' McCain was touting a short few months ago...

Were we Republicans and was Obama a lesser man, this area would be ripe for swiftboating the picking - alas we are not, and he is not...

[GTPinNJ rightfully noted in the comments that "it would be wrong to call it swiftboating to point out how dishonest McCain is."]

More below the fold on yet another big chink in the "honorable McCain" meme...

Sat Apr 19, 2008 at 10:52:15 AM PDT

I've searched DKos for a diary on this ridiculous Op ed but have not found any. I am completely surprised that no one wrote about this (and if there is a diary on this, please let me know!).

I believe the title says it all but view below for the link and some quotes.

Frame: If impeachment is partisan...

Mon Jul 16, 2007 at 06:36:32 AM PDT

So it seems what the Republican'ts are saying about impeachment is that it'd be partisan if the Democratically lead congress decided to Impeach the chimp. Well, i just read this diary about Bush's upcoming/threatened veteos and a perfect frame for this just occurred to me.

Simple frame to defend Social Security

Mon Nov 06, 2006 at 08:42:58 AM PDT

So i'm hearing that Bush wants to take up  his mad dash to gut Social Security again. Well, here's my simple frame that i think would end this madness once and for all:

Do you want to put the guys that brought you IRAQ and KATRINA in charge of the future of Social Security?

Someone PLEASE tell me whats wrong with Democrats!

Thu Apr 27, 2006 at 10:44:35 AM PDT

So i've been lurking around Daily kos for almost a year now and finally decided to get a profile on here and start commenting and posting dairies. For the most part i still just read what other people have to say and one thing keeps popping into my head.

What is wrong with Democrats?!

Issue after issue, scandal after scandal, they don't put up a fight or cause a ruckus. They don't speak out strongly in opposition, condemning illegal or unethical behavior. When a new scandal is revealed, you only hear from a handfull of Democrats who speak out strongly -- if that many. Someone here please give me an explanation or reason why this is!

The lie of "Christian Politics"

Fri Apr 21, 2006 at 12:09:38 PM PDT

I just finished reading a NYT article that pretty much summed up my beliefs about mixing religion (Christianity in particular) with politics. Its called Christ Among the Partisians and i really suggest you read the whole thing. The basic premisis is this:
THERE is no such thing as a "Christian politics." If it is a politics, it cannot be Christian. Jesus told Pilate: "My reign is not of this present order. If my reign were of this present order, my supporters would
have fought against my being turned over to the Jews."... (John 18:36). Jesus brought no political message or program.

This is a truth that needs emphasis at a time when some Democrats, fearing that the Republicans have advanced over them by the use of religion... He avoided those who would trap him into taking sides for or against the Roman occupation of Judea. He paid his taxes to the occupying power but said only, "Let Caesar have what belongs to him, and God have what belongs to him" (Matthew 22:21). He was the original proponent of a separation of church and state. (bolding is mine, more below the fold)
